ahi tuna steaks, 4-6 oz. each |

Marinade: |
|
| 1/4 cup |
|
olive oil |
|

clove garlic chopped |

| 2 Tbs |

soy sauce or
Worcestershire sauce or a combination of either |

chopped scallions |
|
| 1 Tbs |
|
fresh ginger, grated |

| 1 tsp |

lemon juice |

| 1 tsp |
|
salt |

| 1/2 tsp |
|
ground pepper |

large red onion, sliced in six pieces |

Combine all above ingredients except red onion slices in bowl and mix well. Put ahi in shallow dish and pour marinade over ahi steaks. Refrigerate 1-2 hours, turning steaks over twice. |

Prepare barbecue grill (preferably with mesquite). Grill onion slices until beginning to char and remove to platter. |

Grill ahi steaks over medium-high heat, 2 minutes on |

each side for rare. Top ahi steaks with the grilled red onion. |
